Romans are crazy!!

"Smile when your heart is aching"…With those lines from the song Smile performed by Gina Glocksen in American Idol this week, the immortal lines turned out to be true for the rock chick… Although in that episode she sang something which is a totally different side of her, that wasn’t enough to stop her from getting the boot.. People who come to their senses will agree that there are a few contestants whose singing skills are juz average.. After witnessing a few seasons of American Idol, u will realise that this year’s batch of contestants are some what lackluster.. This is an exception for Melissa Doolitle, Lakisha and Jordin Sparks of course… They are simply in a class of their own.. People like Blaze and that JT guy add some variety to what seem to be a boring contest.. But what in the world is Mr. Sanjaya still doing in American Idol… Are Americans turning deaf or what.. Not only his singing is the worst among the lot, but his bizarre hairstyles deserve a mention here… The song he sang this week was ‘Cheek To Cheek’… It’s a beautiful and song… If u’ve seen The Green Mile, u might be familiar with the song… Sanjaya sang it alrite…His best performance in the competition so far.. But an average singer like him should leave the competition ASAP.. Mediocracy is something that is unacceptable in

America

cuz their influence can be seen spreading to all over the world… What if Sanjaya becomes the new American Idol? My ears will burn and Lucifer will unleash its power to the world… Remember William Hung? He sang She Bangs… an off key rendition.. and look what he managed to achieve… Grabbing a Top40 position in the Billboard Charts!! Even groups like My Chemical Romance, The Beatles can’t achieve a feat like that in their debut albums… This whole thing is crazy…

Now let’s talk bout football… I’m sure Manchester United fans will know by now that our team lost in

Rome

this week… Scholes got sent off… He deserves the red card after his crazy no brainer tackles… MU’s defence was a mess… Their players didn’t have the urge to do things quickly…look at the first goal… the Roma players took the corner quickly and MU’s defence was nowhere to be seen… What in the name of Eric Cantona are they doing in the box if they are not going to mark anybody… However, MU did do incredible things… Wayne Rooney’s composure in scoring the goal when MU was one man down was excellent.. But the saddest thing of the night was of course the brutality of the

Rome

police force towards innocent MU fans… Camera footages have shown that MU fans didn’t even react violently to the provocation of AS Roma fans…except for a few water bottles… But looked what happened to them… They got hit in their heads… punched by the police… There was this one guy in the footage, who was in his 50’s being hit countless number of times by two police with their batons… he was hit till blood ran down his head and u can see that look of shock in his face…. the footage can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYikreK6ng4.. Worst of all, the police only went over to the MU supporters side to beat them up while the Roma fans run off with their Third World mentality acts… UEFA has got to do something bout this…This is unacceptable… Y are fans treated like this… It’s against human rights… it’s like something u see in Abu Ghraib…

Rome

policemen are all assholes… since we’re talking bout British blokes being nice and still getting beaten up i have to be a little explicit here… FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKING

ROME

POLICEMEN!!!

Television Heaven

March 29th, 2007 by linkinpark822002

TV shows have never been this good.. for now at least.. with the likes of Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Prison Break, House, Desperate Housewives and Heroes, u’ll juz find all the reasons to skip revision and homework.. As my holidays were before the exams, i had to make myself work in the morning and watch Grey’s Anatomy from 1 a.m. till 3 a.m. The worst part of the holidays is that what i’ve read in the morning was pointless… none of the topics which i’ve read came out in the exams…isn’t that great? Without a doubt out of the mentione TV series that i’ve mentioned, Grey’s anatomy is definitely the best as the characters grow into you with their hardship in their working life and also their relationships.. Heroes on the other hand is a superbly interesting new TV Series showing now. It has a cliffhanger in every ending of each episode. Unlike the crappy Lost, which is currently in the third season, Heroes manages to solve the cliffhangers the consequent episodes. Lost has certainly lost it’s shine. But it’s first season pilot was definitely one of the best pilots in TV history. One tree Hill, another one of my favourites is what i think the best teenage TV show right now. Though it may seem illogical in certain places but the tug-you-at-your-heartstring moments seem enough to keep you watching on. Now i can’t wait for shows like Dexter to land in Malaysia. Dexter has been garnering rave reviews. Shows i wanna watch in the next few months are Prison Break:Manhunt and Grey’s Anatomy Season 3. TV has never been this good.

CNY ‘07…

March 4th, 2007 by linkinpark822002

dis year’s new year was not as meriah as last year la in my honest opinion.. i didn’t ‘low yee sang’, no firecrackers… the onli gud thing was i went to malacca and penang dis year…. it’s a tiring week but the journey to two states in the period of five days was kinda fun and enjoyable…. but my stay in penang was gud cuz i’ve not been there in 4 years… so as soon as i reached penang i quickly had a taste of my oh so beloved ’sar hor fun’… the downside to it was that i was having a bad flu… so watever i’ve eaten, i cannot smell nor taste it… but being able to be there juz to makan ’sar hor fun’ was enough for me… ‘Sar hor fun’ was so gud that i ate it for lunch, dinner, breakfast during my two nights stay there… of course wat wud a journey to penang mean if u dun eat curry mee…. the most surprising thing in penang was the newly opened Queensbay Mall was pretty KL-ish… and the motorcyclists there are even scarier than the rempits in KL… went home on my third day there…a s soon as i touched down i had to clean up the house… i mopped, swept, wiped… by night time i was on my bed like a pig… the next day iw ent to my friend’s house for dinner… den a few days later i skool reopened… didn’t have the time to touch my textbooks during the hols…

the worst part of the new year was i didn’t attend Muse’s concert in Malaysia…. i was actually planning to go to the concert 3 days before tickets were on sale at the pre-launched held in SG Wang.. but the prob was i didn’t have anyone to go to the concert with me and there’s no one to send me adn pick me up from there…. i didn’t ask my parents cuz dey will never enjoy that kind of music… haih…. on D-DAY, my heart was broken and i knew i will regret it… and so i did… i guess i have to catch them here again when that time comes… god knows when that’ll happen…

on the 15th Day, Chap Goh MEh, i went visiting wif my sri murni friends… the funniest part was that me and my other friens who were riding in my other friend’s mum’s car got lost on our way to cheras…. guess where we ended up? Kuchai Lama… the same place where i got lost on my way to Ben’s house… but this time i was part hero cuz i led my friend’s to the correct way…muahaha… finally i’m not useless… and for the first time i actually won in gambling…. we visited here and there… at the end of the day it was tiring, but i’m glad dat i got the chance to do some catching up with my old skool mates… gawd i miss most of them especially  my mui mui’s… guess i’ll see them some time soon…

valentine’s day ‘07

February 16th, 2007 by linkinpark822002

the day before valentine’s day was kinda sad la…cuz i kena scolding from my parents cuz i gave them wrong directions…. i was supposed to be connaught in Ben’s place…but becoz of my lousy sense of direction i took 1 hour plus to reach there… though i’ve passed connaught like thousands of times, i actually cannot remeber how to go there.. instead of showing them the way to connaught, i ended up in Sungai Besi old airport.. the worst part was it was already late at night… when i finally reached Ben’s place, me and Ben jammed with classical guitars…. Ben is actually a better guitar player den me by a few times over but i can see the prospect of me, him, kuan yee and maybe few others playing in this year’s prom…wahaha… den, Ben’s father caught a praying mantis and we decided to put the praying mantis into a container which had a spider…. we were so scared that the tiny praying mantis will bite us or slash our hands, we took around 10 minutes just to insert it into the container… den Ben’s mom offered me tau fu fa…and we sat there eating and waiting for the insects to fight… but in the end it was a waste of time… both of the insects were vegetarian… so,we released the insects outside his house.. staying at Ben’s place was gud cuz his parents were great hosts unlike what kuan yee told me earlier…lol…

Next morning, I woke up at 4.45 a.m. and me and Ben went to

Connaught

mcdonalds for breakfast at 5.45 a.m… he went off and soon after Mr. Darminder came and off i went to Subang Jaya… I boarded the bus to Batu Pahat… it was a nice journey as we played games… we did kazakhi dance Borat dance at the back of the bus… Lol… when we reached Johor, we went to 4 different skools to present the mock cheques of our charity run to the skools that were badly affected by the recent floods… we had to listen speeches for 4 times over and over again…. and we had to makan 4 times over and over again at each of the skools…it was quite boring… but we did get to see the effects of the floods… i feel so grateful to live in KL… lol.. on our way back, i wanted to sleep, but ebbose-san Jesslyn told stories… so me and Salwa stayed up and listened to her.. from Batu Pahat till Subang jaya…lol…4 hours… whoa! the best part of this year’s Valentine’s day was that me and my other buddies had the chance to spend a day out and we even watched the sunset together… lol… too bad my other buddies who had to attend skool weren’t here… i reached home at 10 sumthing at night… it was a long day… and a tiring day… so overall, this year’s valentine’s was certainly better den the year b4… Gong Xi Fa Cai…

have you ever seen the rain…

January 14th, 2007 by linkinpark822002

non-stop rain, floods in Johor and the earthquake in

Taiwan

…. haihz…. disasters, disasters and disasters… what a great way to start off the new year…hurray! talking about the recent earthquake, did u guys notice that most ppl would rather fret and talk about the slow net connections than actually symphatise with the taiwanese ppl who were affected… it shows that we humans are not so perfect after all… we only care for ourselves… it’s human nature…. racism, discrimination… it still happens in the era of globalisation… nothing is sacred anymore… what happened to the G8 meeting and its pledge to eradicate poverty… with Live8 held in 2005, Bob Geldof and co.’s plans have not struck the correct chords… what’s the point of sending troops and more troops to another country if what was supposed to be done was actually a red herring for other ‘bigger’ plans…. that i’m afraid u have to ask the president of the nation that thinks they are the best and strongest nation just because they got the guns and money…. no offense but if u have watched shows like amazing race or other american reality tv shows, u’ll realise that most americans are actually very ignorant in a sense they onli care for the greatest nation of all, their own country… but well, why should they care… look at Iraq, anti war activists keep on protesting but no body gives a damn about them… nothing came out of it…. by not sending troops to Iraq, they could’ve used the cash to solve more serious issues like poverty, help out ppl in Taiwan, Acheh, or maybe even Johor… as they say ignorant is bliss… maybe i myslef should not give a damn about America… But, at least there are a few Americans who are giving out more than they take… Oprah Winfrey, Brangelina, GreenDay, Bono…oh wait Bono is Irish… Sir Bono is a great example where other leaders should follow… although he was recently knighted, he didn’t boast or turn himself into a big-headed jackass… instead he pledged to eradicate poverty with the influence he has….. talking bout the rain, the rain just wouldn’t stop in Johor i wonder why…… at first it stopped and then it started again… Was it because God was angry with the toll rise? The tsunami maybe? Maybe God was a Chelsea supporter… to know the answer, u gotta ask the man up there himself… i know i won’t cuz i’m a selfish piece of shit myself…but maybe if there’s is a way that i can do my part maybe i’ll lend a hand… at the mean time i can juz make myself useful by wasting time typing this blog and listening to CCR’s Have You Ever Seen The Rain… till then…. Happy Killing Innocent Lives, Mr.Bush!

Best and Worst of 2006…..

December 29th, 2006 by linkinpark822002

i can’t believe that 2006 will be over soon… next year it will be a big year for me and my other comrades as we’re gonna sit for SPM… too bad i haven’t reeli started revising since the final term exams this year… haih… anyway, the year of 2006 has been filled with lots of great movies, music, events etc… so here are some things that i think are worth mentioning in this post..

Casino Royale

in the beginning there are some haters that dislike Daniel Craig and thinks he’s juz too ugly to play a man like James Bond… although there are still some haters out there, the number has lessen to the extent that now ppl want to watch more of him in the next James Bond Movie.

The Inside Man

this robbery thriller has certainly captured my eye the moment i watched the first 10 minutes… it’s one of the brainiest crime thriller that i’ve ever seen with A-list actors like Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster… movie goers who dislike talking movies will not like this movie as it is filled with lots of dialogue… so dun expect too many explosions from this movie….

Other great Movies

Pirates of The Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest, X-Men3:The Last Stand The Prestige, Crash, The Departed

Good Movies Worth Watching

Borat:Cultural Learnings of America Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, The Devil Wears Prada, Over The Hedge, Click!, Superman Returns, The Descent, Snakes on a Plane and others that i can’t remember…

Movies That I Wish Could’ve Been Better

Curse of The Golden Flower, Election 2, Da Vinci Code, The Banquet and other forgettable movies that are juz too bad….

In the Music category, there are several good tunes and albums that i’ve listened to this year…. The Good ones are: Snow Patrol-Eyes Open, Muse-Black Holes and Revelations, MCR-The Black Parade, John Mayer-Continuum, The Decemberists-The Crane Wife, Andrea Bocelli-Amore, Carrie Underwood-Some Hearts, Mogwai-Mr.Beast, Jack Johnson- Curious George Soundtrack and also mixtapes from One Tree Hill and The O.C…. The biggest disappointment for me was Damien Rice’s "9" album… nothing memorable except for a few tracks… cudn’t match his first album… Several gud newcomers: Teddy Geiger, Panic! At the Disco, James Morrisson, Cassie, Imogean Heap, The Fray…

The best events of the year 2006:

MU leading Chelsea in the EPL in the o6/07 season… Essien’s own goal against Reading… Nicol David making Malaysia proud… Kien Keat-Boon Heong in badminton…. Lukas Rossi of Rockstar Supernova performing Creep and Headspin… Ryan Star performing Back of Your Car and Clocks in Rockstar Supernova… Chris Daughtry performing Have You Really Ever Loved A Woman in Americon Idol 5… Cempaka’s We Will Rock You Musical… and some others that i cudn’t recall…

The Worst Events of 2006

Scandals involving the various councils in Selangor… the rising amount of ppl infected with HIV… Chong Wei and Hafiz Hashim badminton performances… the flood in Johor, quake in Taiwan, The everlasting invasion in Iraq, the Mahathir and PM spat…. the UMNO General Assembly… myself putting off aeroplane with mean shit Ben and the gang…

overall this year is a gud year for me and there’s plenty to look forward to next year, 2007… nuffsaid, bye bye 2006 and Happy New Year…

Malaysian Scouts National Jamboree ‘06

December 21st, 2006 by linkinpark822002

the eleventh malaysian jamboree took place from the 12th till the 19th December…. it was held in Ulu Bendul,Negeri Sembilan.. this time there were over 6000 scouts who took place in this camp…the national jamboree is held every 4 years…i was part of it too… i went with my skool’s scout troop… the nite before there was lots of last minute packing that i had to do..i was reeli excited that i cudn’t sleep…in the end i slept at around 3 and woke up at 7 the next day… the pickup point was SK Dusun Nanding…everyone was supposed to be there at 10 but the bus came at 11…

on the first day we dint haf lots to do except setting up our tents… our Hulu Langat ppl were kind of unlucky cuz our campsite was located kinda high up the hill… worst part of all is that there are no stairs for us to climb up the steep hill… in the end we had to take around 30 minutes juz to go up alone!! the soft muddy ground made things worse for us… as we brought our equipment up to the campsite first, we left our luggage in the bus… but the bus did not inform us that it was gonna leave so in the end we panicked and tried running around searching for our bags…in the end we found them lying at the side of the road around 400 metres away from our campsite…. it was reeli tiring to bring our heavy luggage up the hill… as i was too lazy to go up and down the hill, in the end me and my bunch of friends did not bath that night..lol.. we spent our time playing poker cards that night… not to mention smelling each other’s BO too…ahaha

on our second day, after breakfast we were given activity cards and were explained more about the camp… there are altogether 25 activities available…we need to finish at least 20 to obtain the terachi badge… on the second day we managed to do 4 activities.. we did kayaking, rafting ,cultural competition and water crossing…the kayaking was fun but me and my partner did not know how to turn the damn kayak…so we ended banging stuff…the water crossing was easy…we were given life jackets and were asked to swim across the pond by pulling ourselves with the rope under the water… my shirt turned from white to brown as the water was murky… rafting was tiring and i instantly got a cut…ahaha.. the cultural competition thing was nothing…all we needed to do was just to attend the pertandingan kebudayaan at night… i had my first bath…

on the third day, we did orienteering..weirdest part is we did not have to use any compasses…in fact this was the hardest activity for me… the most painful one too… this is because of the slippery ground and as i was going down the slope i slipped and my left hand tried to grab the plants on the ground…when i stood up i saw over 20 splinters embedded in my shand… i quickly pulled out 5…. the pain was so unbearable that i almost fainted…mosat of my friends already left me there…thank god i had some other friends at the back to assist me… lucky for me i managed to descend the hill… my friends teman-ed me to the clinic located in the camp… kimfoo went too cuz he had some kind of skin allergy that looked as ugly as the scar on the phantom of the opera’s face… the doctor injected me with some kind of substance that has got nothing to do with the splinters….den he removed my splinters one by one…he had to change two needles to get all my splinters out… we managed to do onli three activities that day..cuz of insufficient coupons…the coupons were useless…it was holding our team back… my scouts troop felt kinda bad cuz as the whole Selangor contigent was bz building stairs for our camp site, we were more interested to enjoy ourselves in the river… ahaha… not a very productive day

our fourth day was our most productive day, we did 7 activities….my hand healed partially and i managed to do the obstacle circuit… we played water polo… i realised that i can kinda swim but with my eyes closed cuz i cudn’t open my eyes under water… flying fox was nothing…it looked terrifying at first but it was nothing.. at night we helped those abang to do the Selangor pintu gerbang…we started work at 5 and we helped till 2 in the morning… my job was juz sawing bamboo cuz my pioneering skills are reeli bad… i was so tired aat around 12 midninght that i sawed my finger twice… although we did help but i think we actually added more work for the abang’s cuz the roof that we were working on cudn’t be put into place…but at least we helped la…. but the best part was making friends with those cool kelana’s…we mandi-ed at 2.30 a.m. and slept at around 3… nice cold bath….

on the fifth day we went on for a lawatan… it was the most unproductive day cuz we onli managed to do one activity…we visited three places… we stopped by at jusco for lunch… den we bought supplies…. but the best part was doing ‘business’ there… i wasn’t alone… lots of ppl did their stuff at jusco too…ahaha… the thing i hated the most is the punctuality of those female scouts from terengganu… they had sooo much fun shopping that they had forgotten the time and made us wait in the bus for an extra one hour… man, imagine putting them at mid valley….we were given VIP treatment during the lawatan cuz our bus need not follow the traffic light… ppl have to give way to us even when they have the right of way….FUN…when we reached back at camp site, we had to quickly change to do our duty in the kitchen…we did our job well…we lepak-ed in the dapur after the peak period… i peeled onions… Hulu Langat was the best daerah in terms of efficiency in the kitchen..that was what the man who gave us orders said… lol.. i felt sad for kah wei cuz he went up gunung Angsi and hurt his hands and leg… his leg was severely blistered that he cudn’t walk back from the clinic to camp at night… the military ppl all dun wan to send him…so me and zhen yu went over and decided to take turns piggy back him back all the way to camp….but thank god Jabatan Pertahanan Awam was there to send us back…. kah wei almost got sent home…

tthe sixth day, my friends went up ot Gunung Angsi…we woke up at 5 but started the journey at 8…. the climb was easy and a breeze… so much easier than orieenteering… we used up less than four hours to go up and come down… we came down and we quickly finished off the rest of our activities.. kah wei recovered and he finished all his activities first alongside with the girls of course.. at night we went to watch the kebudayaan performance by the international students… the kuala lumpur(indonesia) and the singapore contigent’s performance were the best to me… Singapore’s version of STOMP!was unique and great… i stayed up till two in the morning waiting for MU’s results against west ham..thanks to Teik Chi for the update… sooo disappointing for  MU to lose to west ham…straight away went to sleep after dat feeling disgusted

on the seventh day we submitted our activity cards and obtained our terachi badge… we dint do much on that day… we attended the finals for the kebudayaan competition… our selangor contigent, being the biggest contigent of the whole camp with 800 students, went there to support our Selangor’s performance that night…it rained quite heavily but it didn’t affect our semangat to cheer for our team… in fact i got myself dancing and shouting like an idiot… it was all good… when we were waiting at the water polo area for Faith who went to the clinic to get her eye checked,  a teacher from Selangor who was sitting near the stairs suddenly fell to the ground and her body shook so hard… we quickly ran to get help…whoa… very tense moment i tell u… a person almost died right in front of us…we bathed at around 12.35 a.m…it was shivering cold as it was rraining…. after that we went back up to camp… we were forced by Ms.Loo to sew our badges on our uniforms that night… haih… i dint have the skills to do so… but thankg god for kimfoo and yi syuen i manged to learn some stuff and in the end i sewed two badges in 30 minutes…not bad for a first timer huh? i teman-ed zhen yu till he finished sewing at around 3 a.m….

on the eight and final day(except for Selangor contigent) we went for the upacara penutupan and waited for time to pass… one of the gals from our troop, Faith went home a lil earlier cuz she had an eye infection…Alvin sent her home…we practically spent the night doing nothing except chatting…i went over to zhenyu’s tent to makan all kim foo’s supplies.. he was kinda pissed at us cuz we makan everything he brought for himself… after supper i went back to my tent feeling tired… mana tahu choon hahn was in the mood to talk so we talked bout chicks all nite long…ahaha… fell asleep halfway cuz got nothing much that i can say bout the chicks in Suria…

on the ninth day, we woke up at around 8 and we had to rush to clear up our stuff…it was raining for the third day straight… conditions were dirty and cold…. cleaning up was not fun at all.. we waited for our bus which came at 11… we reached at Dusun Nanding at around 1.30… my mom picked me up and i went home after off loading some of the equipment in skool… overall the camp was the best camp i’ve been to… it was fun… full of drama and excitement…i felt like going home after the first day but conditions improved after that and i reeli wished the camp was a lil longer… but nothing beats home in the end… the camp has brought me and my friends a lil closer together…and i’m now looking forward to the next jamboree in selangor in 2010…. as the saying goes…. ‘once a scout, always a scout’

Achievements of Malaysia in the not so distant past

December 3rd, 2006 by linkinpark822002

Bo2020final2020nicol20david20eases20past Nicol David is one of the ppl that i truly respect… and her recent win in the World Open has certainly proved that sheer determination and hardwork can bring us success.. she not only succeeds in Squash but she is a very clever and active student as well not only in terms of good academic results.. even myself, haf to admit that it is hard to succeed as well as her… in fact, most probably i cudn’t do so..cuz i just do not have the strong will to work hard like her.. and she was born to play squash well.. So, in my honest opinion, she deserves to be awarded a Datukship in the near future.. cuz if the guy who swam across the English Channel gets a Datukship, den Nicol of course deserves a Tan Sri title… Period..

Talking about Datuk’s,there was a hugely highlighted case in the media about an MP who built a mansion without a permit…Whoa! How can the government only take notice and action after the media highlighted the matter? This was not the only case but in fact there’s more den one Datuk who’s setting up structures illegally.. all happened in the supposed-to-be-developed state of Selangor.. I’m just a lil’ puzzled…and amused….what happened to transparency? if someone as powerful as an MP can get away with this with only a fine… what next? resignation from local council posts alone are not gud enough..

the UMNO General Assembly was broadcasted live and it showed the various speakers giving ‘very entertaining’ speeches in the sense that the remarks made were kinda offending for a person of another race to hear.. i was slightly offended that the speakers were unable to control their emotions and make remarks that were deemed seditious by certain parties…juz for the sake of drawing applauses and popularity…bad timing.. but thank god our PM did the correct thing by giving them a stern warning… kudos to Pak Lah.. i certainly agree that events like this should be broadcasted again next year.. it’s entertaining indeed.. i cudn’t imagine if the speeches were made by another party of a different race… well, that’s Malaysia for you ladies and gentlemen…

nuff said, i can speak no more of these embarassing moments being a Malaysian but nvrtheless, Malaysia is still a nice place for me to live.. i hope the Internal Security Act will not take my blog seriously if they so happen to come across this post… congrats again to Nicol.. oh, when are they going to broadcast our Malaysian Astronaut in space playing Batu Seremban? man, it’s a must watch certainly cuz it’s an expensive activity to do in space… i wonder who pays for this…

Redribbonaidsdayinside_1p.s, thank you Datuk Seri Dr.Chua Soi Lek, the Malaysian AIDS Council and other NGOs for putting in lots of effort to support the prevention of HIV positive… ur efforts are highly appreciated… pls ppl, HIV patients are just like any of us… so don’t ever discriminate them.. educate urself at www.staying-alive.org or at other related sites… u can make a difference… peace
